Governing Youth Council (GYC)

The Weber-Morgan Governing Youth Council (GYC) is a youth-led group that plans and coordinates activities promoting positive youth lifestyle and developing solutions to modern problems facing young people. Council members also educate peers and community leaders about nicotine- and tobacco-free lifestyles.

What is GYC? 

The Weber-Morgan Governing Youth Council (GYC) is a community-based youth group that identifies and addresses issues affecting youth in Weber and Morgan communities by: 

  • Educating local elected officials at our annual banquet. 
  • Advocating for community change during Capitol Day. 
  • Supporting community partners by having educational tables at local events. 
  • Partnering with schools, coalitions, and stakeholders.
  • Developing leadership, advocacy, and presentation skills through hands-on training.

What is My Role at GYC?
