
Solid and Hazardous Waste
The Environmental Health Division regulates and inspects areas with solid and hazardous waste to ensure a clean environment and for the safety of residents of Weber & Morgan counties.

Wastehaulers
- Each waste contractor collecting, transporting or disposing of solid or liquid waste in Weber and Morgan Counties is required to obtain permits for each truck. Permits are issued after receipt of an Application To Operate a Waste Collection Service, fees and completion of an annual inspection:

Used Oil Recycling

Household Hazardous Waste
- Household hazardous waste and mercury-containing household products is accepted at the Weber County Transfer Station for Weber County residents and at the Wasatch Integrated Waste Management District for Morgan County residents. For information about any applicable fees and hours of operation, please contact the facility directly.

- Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the FREE re-use centers at each of these facilities. They hold used paint, thinners, approved pesticides, automotive products and other miscellaneous used products brought in by the public. There is a limit of Oil – 5 gallons per day per resident and/or Antifreeze – 5 gallons per day per resident. The sheds are available during regular business hours.
- *Please note the following waste will NOT be accepted: Asbestos, Free Liquid Waste, Medical Waste, Sewage or Sewage Sludge or Hazardous Waste.

Asbestos
- For general asbestos information and a list of certified asbestos companies visit Department of Environmental Quality’s Asbestos Program.

Methamphetamine Contamination
- The Weber-Morgan Health Department does not conduct testing, nor pay for the testing of potential or alleged illegal drug operation sites. Testing reports will only be accepted from decontamination specialists certified by the Utah Division of Environmental Quality.
- Upon receipt of a report from a certified decontamination specialist stating that a site exceeds the allowable limits as defined in R392-600, Illegal Drug Operations Decontaminations Standards or upon notification of an illegal drug operation site by law enforcement, the following procedures will be followed:
- The owner of record will be notified by certified mail;
- The site will be placarded in accordance with Weber-Morgan Health Department Regulation for Illegal Drug Operation Site Reporting and Decontamination, adopted by the Weber-Morgan Board of Health November 28, 2005; and
- The site will be added to the database of contaminated sites;
- The cleanup of an illegal drug operation site shall be completed by a certified decontamination specialist upon approval of the written work plan and issuance of a permit from the Department to decontaminate the site. Test results stating the site does not exceed the allowable limits will only be accepted from a certified decontamination specialist.
- Upon receipt of a report from a certified decontamination specialist that the site does not exceed the allowable limits, the following procedures will be followed:
- An assessment of the site will be completed to assure that the work plan was followed;
- The owner of record will be notified that a certified decontamination specialist has submitted documentation that the site does not exceed the allowable limits as defined in R392-600, Illegal Drug Operations Decontaminations Standards;
- The site will be removed from the database of contaminated sites; and
- The placard will be removed from the site.
